Learn MoreA simple, science-based practice for self-regulation — tools you already carry, taught so you can use them.
Learn MoreI’ve always believed that fitness should meet people where they are.
Throughout my career as a personal trainer, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients—from people taking the first steps in their fitness journey to athletes looking to build strength, develop their skills and support injury prevention. I’ve had the opportunity to work with men and women of all ages, young adults, seniors and athletes from a variety of sports.
As the founder of KEEP ACTIVE FITNESS LTD., my goal is to create an environment where people feel comfortable learning, challenging themselves and becoming more confident in what their bodies can do.
I’ve been working as a personal trainer since 2020, but my experience working with people extends well beyond the fitness industry. With more than 20 years of experience working with youth within the school division, I’ve developed a strong ability to connect with different personalities, communication styles and ways of learning.
That experience continues to shape the way I coach today. My approach is purposeful and individualized, but also adaptable. I create quality programs based on each person’s goals while recognizing that a good coach also needs to know when to adjust the plan, change the way something is communicated or simply meet someone where they are that day.
I want my clients to understand the why behind what we do, build confidence in their abilities and develop consistency that carries beyond our time together.
For me, fitness isn’t about fitting into one definition of what being “fit” should look like. It’s about continuing to move, building strength for everyday life and creating habits that support you for the long term.
Outside of training and running my business, you’ll often find me outdoors exploring trails with my dog, Phoebe. I love spending time with my partner and my two grown children, whether we’re sharing a great meal, getting outside or simply enjoying time together. Staying connected to family and friends and making time for the people I care about is an important part of my life.
Professional education and ongoing learning are an important part of the way I approach coaching. My primary education and certifications provide the foundation for my work, while continued professional development allows me to keep expanding my knowledge and the way I support the people I work with.

Ongoing education is an important part of my approach to coaching. I have completed extensive continuing education throughout my career and continue to seek out opportunities to expand my knowledge and strengthen the way I work with clients.
My areas of continued learning and professional interest include strength and conditioning, mobility and stability, injury prevention and pain-aware training, sports conditioning, nutrition and lifestyle habits, hormonal changes, sleep and recovery, stress management, breathwork and overall wellness.
These areas represent only a portion of my ongoing professional development. Continuing education allows me to bring a broader perspective to coaching and better adapt my approach to the individual needs, goals and experiences of the people I work with.
Training is available one-to-one, with a partner or in a small group. Each option provides purposeful coaching shaped around the people in the session.

With a focus on behavioural change, I help my clients understand their own current habits and give them the tools to create new ones. I keep language simple, skills attainable and following through easy, so you can truly achieve your goals in a realistic, long-term manner.
My non-restrictive approach has empowered several clients in regaining control of their relationship with food. I challenge you to measure your success by more than just numbers on a scale.
I take a very simple, science-based approach when teaching yoga breathing to my clients. My goal is to empower you. We often overlook our own health until undesirable symptoms develop.
We have the tools within us to assist in self-regulating — but without knowing how to use them, we miss a great opportunity to improve ourselves.

Her knowledge of fitness and nutrition is paralleled only by her commitment to her clients. No matter your fitness level or goals, she will set you up for success and stand by your side the entire time.
Karie helped me turn a minor level of motivation into a strong intrinsic one. I look better, lost weight, have more energy, and my blood pressure has dropped to normal levels. One of the best decisions I have ever made.
Karie is the best! I was initially skeptical about personal training, but she has gone above and beyond. Amazing attention to detail — I have recommended her to everyone.
The best personal trainer I have ever worked with — committed, kind and realistic. Working with her since June with zero burnouts: a huge accomplishment after four years of struggling to stay committed.
It took me a long time after having my son to feel comfortable in a gym again — Karie made that transition so much easier. I feel better, sleep better, and my confidence is back.
Karie sets out a clear, detailed pathway to your goals. She explains each exercise so you understand the correct movements and what is being worked, while ensuring it is done safely.
Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable — she lets you know why you're doing what you're doing so you complete exercises correctly and safely. Highly recommend.
Great trainer!
Karie is an amazing trainer and works with you on achieving your own personal goals!
Short, occasional notes on training, food and breathing.
July 2026
A short nasal-breathing reset before your first set settles your heart rate and helps you brace properly. It costs nothing and changes how the whole session feels.
June 2026
Most people back-load protein into one big evening meal. Moving 25–30g to breakfast makes the rest of the day easier — and you stop snacking at four in the afternoon.

Three honest sessions a week for a year will outrun six punishing weeks followed by a break. Build the week you can actually repeat.
